Permits needed for Yosemite’s Half Dome
Here in the States, one of our favorite destinations to get outside and play is at the majestic Yosemite National Park. We’ll have you heard about the recent changes?
Now if you want to make the day hike up to the well known and well traveled Half Dome, you’d better be packing a permit. Yep, a permit!
Permits will be checked starting the first day chains are placed, which is usually the third Friday in May.
Demand is expected to exceed availability, which will total 400 permits a day. Permits must be reserved at least one week in advance through the National Recreation Reservation Service at (877) 444-6777 or online; there is a nonrefundable $1.50 processing fee per person.
Hopefully this cuts down on some of the traffic up there because it’s like a freakin zoo up there sometimes.
Get out and have fun!
